  1. How do I apply for a job?
    The application process has three steps:
    1) Visit our current employment link to view open positions
    2) Complete our easy 14-question Pre-Employment Application
    3) Attach your resume to your online application

  2. How long does it take to complete the online application?
    Approximately 5-10 minutes; depending on the information the applicant provides.

  3. Do I have to complete the online application?
    Yes, potential candidates must complete our online application. Required fields are in red. However, the more information you provide, the easier it will be to effectively evaluate your skills, abilities and qualifications.

  4. Will I be able to attach my resume?
    Yes, after completing the online application you will come to a screen that allows you to upload your resume. It is important to read all the instructions carefully. If you do not attach your resume your application will not be complete.

  5. Will I be able to attach my cover letter?
    Yes, you will be able to attach a cover letter. However, your cover letter needs to be in the same document as your resume. The system will only allow you to upload one document.

  6. When / how can I make changes to my application?
    Once you have submitted an application to a particular position, you will not be able to make edits or changes to that application.

  7. Do I need to mail in my resume?
    No, your application and resume submitted through our job applicant tracking system is sufficient.

  8. What should I do if I want to apply to multiple positions?
    For serious consideration, we recommend to apply to as many positions in which you have the minimum qualifications required. To apply for multiple positions, simply search the site for any current open positions and click on the “Apply Now” button. You will be automatically directed to our online application for the new position you are applying to.

  9. What if I do not have access to a computer?
    You can submit your application and resume from any computer with internet access (home, school, library, etc).

  10. Can I submit my resume by mail or fax?
    For serious consideration, we highly recommend you complete our online application thru our job applicant tracking system. However, if you are experiencing difficulties in submitting in your online application please contact our recruiter at (818) 739-5163.

    Our job applicant tracking system is updated on a daily basis.

  12. If I am a current Child & Family Guidance Center employee, do I have to complete an application and submit a resume?
    Yes. All applications and resumes are submitted online through our applicant tracking system. It is likely that you may have acquired additional skills, experience and education since you originally applied that should be considered.

  13. What do external and internal candidates mean?
    a) An external candidate is an individual from outside of Child & Family Guidance Center.
    b) An internal candidate is a current employee of Child & Family Guidance Center.

  14. Checking the Status on Your Application

  15. What happens to my application once submitted online?
    You will receive an email confirmation that your application was received within 1-2 hours of your submission. Your resume will then be reviewed by our recruiter.

  16. How are job interviews arranged?
    The hiring manager or the recruiter will contact you if you have been selected for an interview.

  17. Can I schedule an interview for the position that I am interested in applying for?
    Due to the large number of applications and requests for interviews, general appointments cannot be made. Should a department feel that your qualifications match the needs of their position, you will then be contacted directly for an interview.

  18. Will Human Resources contact me if my qualifications match a new opened position?
    Due to the large number of inquires that we receive, we cannot contact applicants when a position becomes available that matches your qualifications. Please visit our website for updates and new open positions and reapply.

  19. Will I hear a response either way if interested or not?
    Due to the large volume of resumes received our hiring manager / recruiter will contact those candidates who meet the minimum qualifications for the position.
